Polartherm heaters have been manufactured and marketed ground support heaters since 1985. Since then more than 6000 aircraft ground support heaters have been delivered to customers around the world. Currently Polartherm manufacture 3 models of aircraft heaters for commercial aircrafts and one model for military applications. Main customers of the aircraft heaters for commercial aircrafts include major airlines and ground handling companies in Northern and Central Europe and in North America.
Polar GSH-1 / GSH-2
GSH-1 is designed for heating of narrow body aircrafts. It utilizes Hatz diesel engine and GTS alternator. The heater is equipped with a powerful centrifugal blower, heating unit, generator and fuel tank and in addition it can also be operated straight from the electric power network. The GSH-2 is without Hatz engine/generator and the electricity to run the fan and fuel burner is taken from an external power supply.
Polar 120 HD
Polar 120 HD is a compact heater designed for heating of narrow body aircrafts. It was born as a result of Polartherm's and Finnair's long term co-operation and development. 120 HD has a Yanmar - GTS engine-generator for producing the electricity needed to run the fan and the fuel burner. The heat is produced by a diesel burner.
Polar GSH-W20
Polar GSH-W20 is a heavy-duty ground heater for wide body aircrafts. Utilizing a large blower, electrically powered by a Deutz 4-cylinder diesel and a generator, the unit moves the heating air efficiently throughout the whole fuselage of the aircraft.
HDU-43
The nomenclature of this evolution model is HDU-43. Main features:

Accessories
Air outlet hoses
We can also provide the air outlet hoses designed especially for aircraft heaters. The hoses are made of material that is very resistant to heat and air pressure. The hoses have a high strength outer layer and welded construction.
The length of the hoses is 7600 mm with a diameter of 305 mm. One can also have several hoses attached one after another enabling longer ducting if needed.
The colour of the hoses is yellow and we have both insulated and un-insulated hoses available.
Airplane adapter
The airplane adapter is suitable for both Ø 305 mm and 203 mm hoses as it can be "cut" from the middle. The new adapter also features a sturdy cover for the attachment mechanism.
Air distribution adapter
The air distribution adapter is designed for 1 pc of Ø 305 mm hose and 2 pcs of Ø 203 mm hoses. The original purpose of the distribution adapter is heating up the engines and interior of ATR aircrafts.
